About Bankey Bihari Mandir
Shri Bankey Bihari Mandir is among the holiest Vaishnava temples in all of Braj Bhumi. Dedicated to Lord Krishna in his Tribhanga posture (three bends — "Bankey" = bent, "Bihari" = the enjoyer), the temple was established by the legendary saint Swami Haridas Ji in the 16th century.
The temple is famous for its unique purdah ritual — the curtain opens and closes every few minutes so that the intense gaze of Bihari Ji does not overwhelm devotees. This tradition makes every darshan a precious, fleeting moment.
